Kaleb got up at the usual time of 6am (in our bed as usual!) to find daddy bringing in his new uniform, shoes and socks. When Kaleb saw what daddy had brought in for him he asked, “Am I going to big school today??” “Yes.” I replied. You should have seen his face! It lit up like nothing else!! J He sat down with me on the bed then and said, “Mum I want you to do something for me…” “Yep.” I answered. To my surprise he said, “Can you throw my bottle in the dump!?” “Sure can. But you know that you won’t have it for tonight or again?” I told him. “YEP!” he shouted!
UNREAL! He has been attached to that silly bottle of years and to take it off him was a night mare.. But he was very happy to give it up today!!! J Good on you my brave boy!!
Joe and I had to tell Kaleb a few things that he could and couldn’t do at school such as, when he needed to go to the toilet he needed to ask his teacher first and that he couldn’t shout out, “ME NUTS ARE BUSTING!” like he does at home.
He was ready to go to school by 7am! He was so eager to get out the door he could scarcely stand still! Nanna Goosy called to see how he was doing but he didn’t want to talk… way too excited!!
We firstly took Caitlin to day care and then went and picked up daddy at work so that he could come too!
So off we went! Daddy, Mummy, baby Ella and Kaleb! When we got to school some other little preppies were crying very loudly and Kaleb called them sooks – only when we were in the car though… Daddy then needed to explained that Kaleb could not tease other children that were scared to leave their mummies. After that we went to his class room and found a desk to sit Kaleb’s things were put on his desk including his drink bottle. His new teacher, Mrs Brimblecomb, told him that he needed to go and put his bag in the port racks on the other side of the yard, so off he ran to do what he had been asked. Mummy and Daddy watched as he hurled his bag on to the top of the port rack, landing with a great big thud! Trotting back into the class room Kaleb tripped, but was not phased in the slightest, instead of crying he got up and ran away as if he had not even tripped. He looked around his new room and then asked if he could go outside to play on the slide and took off like a shot, with his new hat, when permission was given. After that Daddy and Mummy didn’t see much of Kaleb as he ran and jumped and played with the others! During this time Mummy talked with Mrs Brimblecomb, who is called Mrs Brim by all of the children, then they decided that it was time for them to go. It took a few minutes for Mummy and Daddy to find Kaleb as he was playing and running all over the place in his new school yard. When they finally found they told him they had to go now so that school could start. Hugs and kisses were hurriedly given (more so by Kaleb them by Daddy or mummy) and off he rushed again to play with all of the other children, without a backward glance!
So here I sit writing this and wondering if he is having a good day or not??
Caitlin was so upset later on in the morning about Kaleb… she thought that Joe and I had send him away!! Poor little thing! We will have to take her with us this afternoon to pick him up so she can see that he is coming home and what all of this means!!
